DjZoRts LANtiseptic review
LANtiseptic was a grand success! With a turn out well over 60 people (~63) this was one of our most successfull events yet. Only 2 confirmed persons didnt show, more than half unconfirmed showed up and 5 or more unregistered showed. What a great turn out!
We were happy to have a full time reception person which gave organisers more time to deal with minor problems and kept people in line. Thanks to Jessica for a great job.
People also tended to come on time which i would attribute to the early start of the ut tournament.
Tournaments
Ut2k4 went down well, quickly and with only a small hiccup in the final which was resolved. Big thanks to corsair for the prizes.
HL2DM went as planned - quickly and without events. Prizes thanks to AMD for prizes also.
BF2 had some major problems. Specifically peoples computer problems holding up rounds and similarly rounds ending nearly instantly as matches started or didnt start with incorrent numbers of people in the servers. Alas the final was disappointing in that one of the players played on the wrong team and generally messing things up. Hopefully this can be avoided in the future.
Network
Network was flawless as normal.
Power
We had two power problems. Firstly when a PSU blew causing a glitch (but no circuit breakers etc blew) and secondly we overloaded the master CB (ie we were using too much power over all - helped by the heat also). Nothing we could do about a faulty PSU and we switched to the other half of the three phase in response to the second. No further problems from there.
Internet
For the first time internet access worked with out any problems. Huray! thanks eftel.
