XX over now over with. It was a fairly succesfull LAN with only 2 hickups, the first was that we couldn't get the internet going, and the second was that few people had daisy-chained a large number of power-boards and overloaded a circuit, heres a hint for the next LAN guys - > You don't need to bring household appliances, just your PC. Also, charge your phone the night beforehand folks.

We were asked to trial the Pariah Demo at XX, however this wasn't very succesfull as it seems that everyone who downloaded it beforehand played it beforehand and decided it was a pile of crap, myself included. They probably weren't all that happy with the write-up I did about that game but hey, if you want good reviews here's a tip: Make a good game!!

2 tournaments were run, with one person winning the Super Smash Bros. Tournament by default (come on guys all you had to do was enter and you would have had a 50% chance of winning) and I dont know what the results of the UT2k4 tourney were. Also available for the playing was Battlefield 1942, Halflife 2 DM, Camper-Strike source, Jedi Academy, and some misc Strategy games.

The Gamecube was kindof succesfull, more so in the afternoon and evening. I just cant comprehend how people would rather sit there and watch their download progress bars tick along at a pixel a minute over playing games. STill about 15 people got involved at various times, and we had some high quality Mario Kart, some mindlessly repetitive Star Wars:Clone Wars, and some hyperactive SUper Smash Bros Melee.

We had lots of goodies to give away, and no real good way to distribute them. in the end they all got handed out in what I hope was a reasonable fair manner.

I was somewhat disapointed with the level of interest in the sonsole system we had running, when i was playing it was great fun. Sure if your playing some other game thats fine but a quick glance around would have revealed many of you sitting there watching your file progress bars move along in a painfully slow fashion, which would have been a perfect time to go and play! c'mon guys lets play some games! You can download gay pr0n at home on your pornDSL. also it gives you a chance to interact with people a lot more than on pc games so you can get to know more of your fellow LAN attendees whilst man-pr0n slowly fills your hard-disk, with or without your prior knowledge!

BongXX incorporated our regular pc gaming and the addition of a console system to diversify the target demographic of lan events, this was useful as to relax from the stresses of hardcore pc gaming, and allowed for spectators to enjoy the game on the projection screen.

The Unreal Tournament 2004 Tournament was once again an integral part of the lan, competing for ladder positions allows participants to get to know competitors in friendly competition. Plus getting everyone back together for the presentation of prizes always gets a laugh.

However prominent filesharing was, plenty of gaming took place, from older games such as jedi academy and counterstrike, to more recent games such as Half Life 2 deathmatch and a large Empire Earth 2 lan game.

with 41 people in total participating, we are still looking for more players, either experienced or new and willing to learn, all ages are accepted and welcomed.
