ThunderLAN
So, ThunderLAN has been and gone.
Ol' Betty held up well, didn't fall over once thanks to her hip replacements. (ie. No power failures at all, yay! Infact, she wasn't even strained by the load. Cheers to Lakeview Contracting Services for doing a great job with such short notice).
The network was okay, nothing to write home about. This was due to Netgear having prior commitments and being unable to provide any hardware. As a result we had to run with what we could scrounge up, and the network was, for the first time in about a year or two, not fully switched. As a result we ran at a discounted price of $12. Bargain! $1/hour.
The turnout was a bit dissapointing, around 75 people. But some other LANs were also ran on the same day.
Also, a big farewell to Dean who is off to NZ to live with sheep for a few years.
