Meet BONG Staff at Tin Soldier (Penrith) this Satu
from my further attempts to come up with ways of gaining exposure and bringing more people to our events (especially in the western sydney region) emerges this promotional day.
in the past i have tried joint ventures (bailan, anime club lan at uws) with varying levels of success ie. none. although we will be very shortly announcing bailan for this year. also i have toyed with the idea of stall type arrangements, tin soldiers customers and ours have a reasonable cross over and in the past Jared (the owner) has been more than happy to put up posters etc. So i put forward the idea and he seemed happy with it. It costs us both nothing and means that hopefully you guys will walk in to the store and or buy stuff. Im certain a lot of you were into gamesworkshop stuff in high school (or still are) - as i was, and still have a passing interest but now with a few more dollars up your sleeve.
So well have 4 machines on a 'LAN' which means they can play 'multiplayer' ie. against each other. Well probably cap the games to about 20-30 mins to keep a reasonable roll over. The idea is to give people something to hang around it for, have a chat to us and jared, possibly claim some give aways, maybe play a few quick board games as well. There have been some good GW break offs that in some ways seem to be more 'true' to what i percieve the hobby as being.
Also you can drop in and prepay, pay for tshirts etc. so its also a money spinner for us Wink dont miss those t shirts...
