My Big Tip for SeptLAN

Many of you who are coming are excited yet anxious, what will saturday be like? will i fit it? will i have fun? Therefor i have decided to divulge the secret of having a fun and succeeding at a lan. This tip is not related to upgrading your computer, updating your software or peripherals, it has nothing to do with pwning n00bz or having gigs (now tb's strangely) of legitimate files to trade. Indeed, these things have largely nothing to do with how good a time you have, how many games you play (and the games you want to play) or what volume of legitimate files you collect.

This tip comes from running lans for 7 years (plus several years of private events) as well has having attended a handfull of other events.

The secret is thus : talk to the people around you.

Doing so you will very quickly find yourself playing in large games, playing new games, making new friends, trading legitimate files enough to fill all the media you have with you and having such a great time that 10pm comes before you know it.

Some people may be rude. If they are, there are 98 other people to talk to who wont be. So open your mouth and act upon this near priceless pearl of wisdom. We cant make you have fun, but we have provided you with all the ingredients, the oven is warmed, you have brought your mixing bowl and talking to people is the reciple - now its up to you to use it!
