NSW Qualifier for CPL Quake3 @ Nov.LAN!

We're pleased to announce that FragFest will be running the NSW Cyber Athletes Professional Qualifier for Quake 3 on behalf of PING at our 'NovemberLAN' BYO-PC gaming event.

The finalist of this event will qualify for the Australian National Qualifier in Perth, Western Australia held on the weekend of November 25-26 at 4PlayGames, receiving free airfare and accomodation to compete in Perth.

The National Qualifier winner will be flown to Dallas, Texas to represent Australia in the CPL Championship Finals, a global event with participants from 51 countries. The Australian finalist will compete for a chance to win a share of the $50,000 prize purse.

The NSW Qualifier will follow the CPL format in that it will be 1vs1 Single Elimination. We will preselect maps to streamline the event, each tier/phase of the Elimination will all play the same map. Maps will be chosen by us from the list of maps to be played in the actual Australian Qualifier Tournament.

Exact details of the NSW Qualifier will be posted shortly. Registration for this tournament is as normal, meaning it will be open to confirmed people only and the only way to confirm before November 3rd is to prepay! Also note that as the tournament is single elimination participant numbers are limited to powers of two - 2-4-8-16-32. We want to give as many people a chance as possible so our initial limit will be 32 players, if this is not met only the first 16 players registered will compete.
